Edward

Hola, familia!!! Que tal?? Les extrano y les amo!!!

This week was sublime.

We picked up three new investigators and set 2 baptismal dates with Idalice and Isaiah Sanchez!

So, Wednesday was a REALLY special day! Our investigator, Edward (who is getting baptized next Sunday!!!), came out with us and helped us teach one of our investigators, Luz, and her grandkids, Idalice and Isaiah. Their mother was recently killed in a drive-by shooting (Boston is suuuuuuper sketchy sometimes), so they really need the Gospel right now!

Edward helped us teach them about The Plan of Salvation and he bore such a strong and powerful testimony. He kept mentioning his baptism on the 30th and how excited he is to become a member of the church. Luz looked at him after his testimony and said, "Puedo sentir el Espiritu. Jesucristo esta con nosotros y yo se que esta iglesia es verdadera." Which meant that she could feel the Spirit and that she knew this church is true. We set a baptismal date with Idalice and Isaiah for Spetember 27th! When we left the appointment, Edward was BEAMING. He talked about how happy doing missionary work is and how he wants to serve a mission now too!

I cannot describe the happiness you feel when helping someone come unto Christ. It's absolute bliss and all I could do was smile and laugh because not only is Edward being baptized, but he is being CONVERTED to the Gospel, and that makes all the difference.

This week we have zone conference and all of the Sister Training Leaders and Zone Leaders have been asked to do trainings there. We get to work with some of the other STL's/ZL's in the mission to put on the training and I'm pumped!

Well, things are just SWELL. I love being a missionary, and especially in this mission. This place is so sacred to me. I hope you all are doing well! I will talk to you soon.

Feliz semana!!!
Les quiero

Cut Me Down To Build Me Up

Hey, everyone!

This week was so up and down! On Monday/Tuesday we found FIVE new investigators! We were super excited and ready to go for the rest of the week, and on Wednesday, we went on exchanges with our English sisters. I spent the day with Sister Chadwick and we decided we were going to commit to being exactly obedient! We read through the missionary handbook and wrote down any of the rules that we aren't fully committed to keeping, and committed to change and become more consecrated to our Heavenly Father. It was so special and it's been so much fun to be doing exactly what God has asked me to do here. Sister Chadwick is great and we've been following up with each other to hold each other accountable.

On Thursday, we met the new elder who we'll be working with this transfer. His name is Elder Villar. He's from Chile and he's hilarious! We always quote Miranda Sings together and it's so much fun! Then, on Friday/Saturday, EVERY one of our appointments cancelled...

But it's okay because we had NINE investigators come to church on Sunday!!! I know that was a combination of hard work and PRAYER (mostly prayer). We were so happy and it was probably the smoothest day of church I've had here in Boston so far. I just felt so grateful that our people were able to make it and feel the sweet Spirit at church. :)

It's been a really wonderful week and I've been humbled in so many ways. I know sometimes The Lord has to cut us down so that we may be humble, and then in return, he always builds us back up to be better than we were before. I love him for that.

God is good, my friends. :)

I hope you're all doing really well! I love and miss you and pray for you all!

Bean Town

Hi, everyone! It's been a happy, happy, happy week!!!

We've been able to work with a lot of our progressing investigators this week. We have some solid people here in Boston! I love serving in Bean Town :)

One of our investigators is Edward Tapia. He's 16 and he's from La Republica Dominica. He is GREAT. Seriously, the most prepared investigator I've met on my entire mission. I LOVE him! He's getting baptized in 20 days and he's so ready! We are also teaching a "reformed gangster" (that's what he calls himself). He is hilarious. His name is Freddy. He wants to change, and hey, the Gospel is the best way to do that! :)

So, this week we had Mission Leadership Council. I going to MLC and learning from the leaders in our mission. They are most solid missionaries in the world! We talked about becoming MASTER TEACHERS and teaching by THE SPIRIT. I've already seen my teaching skills changing since.

The next day, the zone leaders, Hermana Bybee and I planned for zone meeting. We also had to do weekly planning that day, which meant we spent THE ENTIRE DAY PLANNING.... It was EXHAUSTING, but really great. I love receiving revelation for our zone with these missionaries.

On Friday, we had Zone Meeting! We trained everyone on teaching by the Spirit, and halfway through the meeting, our zone members were doing some role plays, and Hermana Bybee and I looked at each other, wondering if we were helping our zone and giving them what they needed... We talked to the zone leaders really fast and decided to change things up at the end. We all bore our testimonies on charity and love and it was really cool to see ourselves practicing what we were teaching... We relied on the The Lord to work through us as His instruments, and I think it ended the way God had intended it to. It was a really special experience!

Also, it's GIDGET WEBBER'S BIRTHDAY TODAY!!! I LOVE HER SO MUCH! She is a mother like unto the mothers of Helaman's Stripling Warriors. She has taught me everything I know and I would be NOTHING and nowhere without you, mom! I LOVE YOU!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

Have a great week, everyone!

Anniversaries

Hi, family and friends! Thanks so much for your love and support. I appreciate all the letters, emails, and notes of encouragement I've receive from all of you. YOU ARE MY HEROES.

So, the past two weeks have been quite eventful! Sister Bybee and I went on exchanges with some of the sisters in our zone. We have the most talented missionaries in the world here in our zone! I love getting to go out and work with them all and see different techniques of missionary work. It's a really humbling experience!

This week we set TWO BAPTISMAL DATES!!! Yeahhhhh, buddy! Freddy Rodriguez (Puerto Rican) will be baptized in September on the 25th and Edward Tapia (Dominican Republic) will be baptized on August 30th! I love serving in BOSTON!!! :)

Along with the two dates we set, Hermana Bybee and I reachedd two really important dates in our missions this week... I hit my 9 month mark!!! And on Thursday, Hermana Bybee hit 1 year in the mission! I made her cake to celebrate. :)

I can't believe I am already halfway done with the greatest 18 months of my life. These past 9 months have forever changed me. I have seen myself come closer to Christ and develop His attributes (in small increments) as I have invited others to come as well. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

I've gained a firm, personal testimony of the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I KNOW Joseph Smith was a prophet and that he worked as an instrument in God's hands to restore the church that Christ had built when he came to the earth. I know that this church provides a way for us to BE HAPPY and to be with our families too. I know it's true!

I AM SO HAPPY TO BE LIVING THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST!

Have a great week, everyone! Have faith enough to see miracles, because Heavenly Father performs miracles for us here in Boston everyday... And I know He can do anything. :)

Exchanges with Sister Ng!! She is from Malaysia and she taught me how to write my name in Chinese! She is AMAZING and I had the best day with her!

This was the day I hit 9 months on my mission and on the same day she hit 15 months! I LOVE Sister Ng!!!
